Founded in November 1962, the International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons was established by Drs Harry Bacon, Stuart Ross, and Fidel Ruiz-Moreno to facilitate international collaboration within the field of colon and rectal surgery for the purpose of exchanging scientific knowledge to improve medical and surgical standards. Since its inception, the Society has been represented in over 80 countries.
